Thomas David Reed

Thomas David Reed, London Kentucky, was born on February 22, 1946 in Oneida, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Jeff Reed and Stella Nicholson Reed. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Stillings on April 18, 1964.
Thomas was blessed with 3 children: Bryan David Reed and wife Donna, Missy Vires and husband Paul Jr., Michelle Hamm and husband Michael, all of London. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Jack Reed and wife Minnie, Mike Reed and wife Lola; and one sister, Wanda Fields and husband Emanuel, all of London; sister-in-law, Wanda Reed, Hamilton Ohio, and sister-in-law Doris Reed of London; 6 wonderful grandchildren, Seth and wife Cassidy, Mikayla, Ella, Hannah, Brayden and Molly; and a very special friend, Irene Clemens, who was a blessing to all of us. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine on August 18, 2014, 2 brothers, Ray Bernith Reed and Jeff Arvel Reed, and 1 nephew, Terry Glenn Reed.
Tommy retired from UPS after 32 years of service and later worked with the FLW Event staff for an additional 12 years. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church where he served in the food pantry and could always be found using his tractor and wagon for hayrides during Vacation Bible School. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed the restoration of his 55 Chevy Bel Air. He enjoyed sharing his love for cars by attending car shows in southeastern KY. Tommy always enjoyed spending time with others and sharing memories. Later in life, Tommy also found a love for woodworking. As the trees grew older around his home; he found a use for all the lumber. He made multiple projects for those he loved: trunks for all the grandchildren, cedar boxes for all the ladies in the family and most recent, side tables for all the children and Irene. Those pieces we will treasure forever. Most of all, Tommy valued all the relationships in his life and spent countless hours visiting friends in the nursing homes and making phone calls to check on those that were precious to him. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Thomas David Reed departed this life on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the age of 79 years and 7 days.
A funeral service honoring Thomas David Reed will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with John Burdette officiating. Interment will follow at Swiss Colony Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 beginning at 5:00 p.m., and also on Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Tommy's honor to the New Salem Baptist Church Food Pantry, P. O. Box 123, Pittsburg, KY 40755. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
