Clay Superintendent William Sexton and the board of education always seek ways to help their community.  Monday afternoon was another example of the many things they do.
Superintendent William Sexton presented the Clay Fire Alliance with 33 generators to be distributed among the county's 10 departments.
The board received the generators through their partnership with the Christian Appalachian Project.
The superintendent says he could not think of a better way to distribute these to help the residents of Clay County.
"Our fire departments are a vital asset to our community," Sexton said.  "Anything we (the board) can do to help these departments, we will.  I am glad we are in the position to be able to help distribute things like this."
Lockard's Creek Fire Chief and Fire Alliance President Charles "Dobber" Weaver says he cannot thank Superintendent Sexton and the board enough for this.
"This is a tremendous donation to our fire departments," he said.  "We are so thankful the board of education was able to do this for us."
