Young child eats bag of meth, mother charged

A Laurel County mother was arrested after her child swallowed a bag of meth, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Jessica Mills was arrested Wednesday night after deputies were called to a home on Laurel River Church Rd. for a call about a 15-month-old child ingesting a small bag of meth.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance believed to be meth that the child had allegedly ingested

Police say the bag was tested positive for meth. The child was brought to an area hospital for treatment and was listed as stable.
Mills was arrested on a charge of criminal abuse and taken to jail.
