White, Samples lead Lady Tigers

(BARBOURVILLE, Ky.) – They say it’s challenging to defeat the same team three times in one season. Clay County defied the old saying by knocking off Barbourville 68-37, notching their third consecutive victory this season over the Tigers. Maci White and Anna Samples paced the Lady Tiger offense as they each had 15 points, while White finished with a 10-rebound double-double. Sophomore Madison Pendland added 12 points in the victory as well.
Clay County has found its low-post trio in Carly Fultz, Harper Rice, and Emma Jones. Fultz and Rice each added seven points and 4+ rebounds, while Jones added two points and provided key defense. If these three continue to anchor things down low, the Lady Tigers can be a dangerous team moving forward.
This was one of the best shooting performances this season by Clay County, posting an efficient 8-19 mark behind the three-point arc. Anna Samples and Maci White each nailed three apiece, while Pendland and Allie Gray each added one. The Lady Tigers were 6-10 from the free throw line and fired 47% as a team from the field.
Anna Samples – 15pts; Maci White – 15 pts; Madison Pendland – 12pts; Harper Rice – seven pts; Carly Fultz – seven pts; Allie Gray – five pts; Holly Hacker – three pts; Emma Jones – two pts; Daisy Samples – two pts.
