Suspect was behind bars as London PD went to wrong home

(WKYT-TV NEWS)-- A man is in custody facing charges for a stolen weed eater.According to his arrest citation, 49-year-old Hobert Buttery was taken into custody on December 23 on a charge of theft by unlawful taking.The citation says London police received a report of a burglary on Taylor Drive. Surveillance footage showed a vehicle in the area at the time of the theft. The homeowners told police Buttery had previously worked for them.According to records, the address where police say the theft occurred is connected to the Laurel County judge-executive, David Westerfield.
London police say Buttery and the vehicle were later found in Manchester, where he admitted to taking a heater and a weed eater that he says he brought to a home in Lily.
Records show that Buttery used to live in Lily on Vanzant Road, a short walk from the home of Douglass Harless. Harless was killed by the London Police Department last month after allegedly pointing a gun at officers.
