A Manchester woman is in stable condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after being shot in the chest Tuesday night.
Clarissa Wagers, no age listed, went to AdventHealth emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Deputy Wes Brumley.
The deputy said Wagers told him that Amanda Roark, 27, of Manchester, came to her apartment at Beech Creek.
“A verbal argument between her and Roark ensued, and a loud bang was heard and she was shot,” the deputy said.  “Through further investigation and speaking with others present at the time of the shooting, we determined Roark was the aggressor in the situation and shot Wagers with a .25 caliber handgun.”
Following the interview with Wagers, law enforcement began a search for Roark.  A short time later, Roark called Clay 911 and said she wanted to turn herself in.
Deputies went to a residence on Coal Hollow and arrested Roark.
“She (Roark) told us she gave the gun to a male, Michael Jones,” he said.  “We also learned there were three individuals in the room when Wagers was shot.”
Deputy Dustin Henson recovered the firearm at a residence on Gold Leaf Road.
Roark is charged with wanton endangerment 1st, assault 1st , and tampering with physical evidence.  She is lodged in the Clay Detention Center.
