Pursuit lands three in jail, damages multiple police cruisers

Officers from the Clay Sheriff's Department and Manchester City Police assisted in a two-county pursuit that landed three people behind bars.
Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested three individuals on Tuesday night, December 10, 2024, at approximately 10:56 PM. The arrest occurred on Highway 687 in Clay County following a traffic pursuit that started in Laurel County at Highway 638 and Hal Rogers Parkway in London after London City Police Sgt. Ryan Jackson observed a silver-colored Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed.
A check of the plate revealed that the vehicle's owner had two outstanding felony warrants. When the vehicle turned onto Highway 638 from Hal Rogers Parkway, it failed to signal a turn. Sgt. Jackson attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, it was unable to stop traveling at a high rate of speed and onto the wrong side of the roadway before being stopped the far side of Manchester on Highway 687 in Clay County. During the use of spike strips numerous police vehicles were damaged including Laurel County Sheriff's office, Clay County Sheriff's office, London city police, and Manchester city police. the driver Michael Flannery age 25 of North Laurel Ave., Corbin charged with speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit; fleeing or evading police – first-degree; reckless driving; seven counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree; criminal mischief – second-degree.

· The passenger – Andrew Hall age 41 of North Highway 1223, Corbin was charged with menacing; resisting arrest. During arrest this individual refused to exit the suspect vehicle and following a brief struggle with officers was taken into custody.
· Misty Vaughn age 32 of Davenport Drive, Lexington charged on two outstanding warrants including a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking; criminal possession of a forged instrument – third-degree. In addition, this individual was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging no bond allowed regarding charges of possession of a controlled substance – second-degree; possession of drug paraphernalia.
