Is an economic impact director necessary?

by By Tim Parks-Manchester Tourism Director

Hello friends! I hope everyone has had a great week, and hopefully, you’ve harvested the big buck you’ve been waiting on.
This week, I want to discuss the most essential thing in tourism: economic impact.
Most towns or counties have a financial impact office or director. Is it necessary? I think so. It’s important to know what months or weeks gas stations, grocery stores, dollar stores, and restaurants have a spike.
The only way to tabulate that is to check with all of them after specific events or things we do. Some economic development directors work closely or inside the tourism office.
The median average salary for these folks is above 50k a year statewide. It seems like an excellent investment if you get a good one. It would be nice always to have the correct numbers and analytics to show how much something worked or even when something didn’t. I hope everyone has a great week. Much love, Manchester!
