Cox allegedly shoots into vehicle

Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested Delbert Cox age 47 of London on Tuesday morning October 15, 2024 at approximately
8:43 A.M..
The arrest occurred off Sinking Creek Road, approximately 10 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a
complaint that a male subject had allegedly shot into an unoccupied vehicle at a residence there.
Upon arrival at the scene deputies determined that the suspect had barricaded himself inside a building and would not exit for deputies. The suspect communicated with deputies advising that he was armed with a firearm. Following a brief standoff, Laurel Sheriff's Capt. Chris Edwards persuaded the suspect to exit the building where he was subsequently taken into custody without incident. Deputies located a shotgun inside the building. Delbert Cox was charged with criminal
mischief – first-degree; menacing; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
