Fredrick Henry Murray, age 81, of London, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Saint Joseph Hospital in London due to complications from Covid, pneumonia and dementia.
Fred served 2 years in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 where he served as a non-combatant. He was part of the White Coats Project at Walter Reed Hospital.
Fred graduated from the University of Kentucky with an associates degree in respiratory therapy. He was the director of the respiratory therapy department at Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Kentucky for 22 years. After that, until retirement, he worked doing echocardiograms in various physicians offices in Barbourville, Corbin, Manchester and Somerset.
Fred was blessed with the ability to repair just about anything. He also enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
Fred loved the Lord and his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor; he could make whoever he was with laugh.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Murray and Mary Wolcke Murray, his brother, Rick Murray, sister, and her husband Beth and Paul Dinger.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sibyl Yates Murray; daughter Traci Murray; grandchildren, Michelle Murray, Melissa Murray, Kevin May; great-grandchildren, Whitney Bowling and Savannah Murray plus a host of cousins and other family and friends to mourn his passing.
The memorial service for Fredrick Henry Murray will be conducted at 1 pm Monday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Burk and David Cotton officiating.
The family of Fredrick Henry Murray will receive friends beginning at 12 noon Monday until the service hour of 1 pm at Bowling Funeral Home.
