Louise Reece, 84, of Columbus, passed from this life Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at her home.
Mrs. Reece was born February 22, 1940, in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of Robert and America Couch Sizemore.
She married Charles Russell Reece November 16, 1984; he preceded her in death October 28, 2023.
Louise retired from Rock-Tenn Company and had an extensive collection of porcelain dolls.
She enjoyed her dogs and their companionship.
Survivors include her sons, Darrell (Don) Sizemore of Florida, Jeffery (Melissa Acton) Collins of Seymour and Greg L. (Alice) Collins of Columbus; grandchildren, Leslie (Anthony) Harper, Derrick (Jasmine Wells) Collins, Jessica (Deanna) Collins and Jack Thomas Collins; a great-granddaughter, Octavia Collins; sisters, Leona Gable of Tustin, CA and Betty Phillips of Manchester, KY.; step-grandchildren, Laney Acton, Piper (Cam) Shoemaker and Nicholas Wedyck; and her sister-in-law, Betty Jean Sizemore of Franklin, Ohio.
Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and America Sizemore; husband, Charles Reece; brothers, Robert and Johnny Sizemore; and sisters, Francis "Polly" Murphy, Nora Couch and Zora Duchnowski.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
She will be entombed next to her late husband at the Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
