Ida Massey

Ida Massey, age 91, passed away on July 9, 2024, at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.

She was born on November 20, 1932, in Clay County, Manchester, Kentucky, the only daughter of the late Lowell and Millie J. Massey. She was a retired telephone engineer for Central Associated Engineers in Lexington, Kentucky. Ida attended Sue Bennett College and Eastern Kentucky University, where she studied office administration. She was an active member of the Woodford County Business and Professional Women Club and The FREAKS (an engineering group).

Ida spent her life as a devoted caregiver for her mother. She loved reading, traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lee Massey. She leaves behind a niece, Deanne Massey-Slater (Gene), nephew Carl (Carol) Massey, cousin Lana (Walt) Philpot, great niece Jaquetta Thompson, special friends Wanda Eubanks, Mary Campbell, Jennifer Smith, Mona Dean, Franklin and Betty Hoops, Lou Page, Cora Poff, Margaret Ortan, and Jeanne Bucy.

Ida will be interred at Massey Cemetery in Clay County, KY, at a later date.
