Shepherd allegedly destroys property in Laurel County
A Clay County man was allegedly out-of-control destroying property in Laurel County recently.
Austyn Weddle, along with Deputy Zach Allen, arrested Anthony Wayne Shepherd, age 33, of Manchester, on Tuesday night, May 28, 2024, at approximately 7:42 PM.
The arrest occurred off Johnson Road, approximately 12 miles east of London, after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of an out-of-control subject allegedly destroying items inside a building not his own and throwing them out the door.
When officers made contact with the suspect, they noted he appeared to be highly intoxicated and, upon arrest, scuffled briefly with officers before being taken into custody.
Upon investigation, deputies said that the suspect had torn both doors off their hinges to the building and destroyed multiple items inside the building.
Anthony Shepherd was charged with criminal trespassing – third-degree, criminal mischief – second-degree, alcohol intoxication, and menacing. This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
