Ruth Smith

Ruth Smith, born December 4, 1954, in Clay County, KY, passed away in Hammond, LA on May 6, 2024, at the age of 69. Ruth loved to bake cakes, make candy, and can food. She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her children, Charles William Harris, Ernest Clyde Harris Jr., James Darrel Harris; grandchildren, Shelton Wayne Moore, Sarah Harris, Shelby Andrew Harris; great grandchildren, Aubree Harris, Jayden Harris, Jettison Harris; Her special friends, Sheila, George, Tom, Joline, Teresa, and Jan; sister, Kathleen Couch; brother, Pete Smith.

Preceded in death by her parents, Isom and Mary Smith; brother, Armilda Carr, James Darrel Smith, Rufus Smith, Henry Smith; Sisters, Edith Smith, Martha Northern D.D. Smith, Lucinda Eversole.

A memorial to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at a later date.
