Clyde "Doc" Rader, a beloved resident of Manchester, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024. He was 72 years old. Doc was known for his lifelong passion for restoring old cars and his boundless enthusiasm for anything with wheels and an engine.

He leaves behind three children, Mitzi Alsip & husband Garrett, Christy Tankersley, Craig Bowling, all of London, KY; two siblings, Mike Rader & wife Brenda, Sheryl Smith, all of London, KY; four grandchildren, Will Alsip, Isaac Alsip, Jacob Tankersley, Graycie Tankersley; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Rader Jr. and Bernice Benge Rader; and by his sister, Debbie Rader.

Doc's love for automobiles was evident to all who knew him. Over the years, he meticulously repaired, sold, and traded an uncountable number of cars, each project a testament to his skill and dedication. He found immense joy in attending car shows and was an avid follower of NASCAR, always eager to discuss the latest race and the mechanics behind each vehicle.

Beyond his automotive pursuits, Doc will be remembered for his kind heart and the warmth he brought to those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship and a community of fellow car enthusiasts who shared in his passion.

Funeral services for Clyde “Doc” Rader will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jeff Jackson and Garrett Alsip officiating. Burial will follow at Benge Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be Shonnie Rader, Chris Hubbard, Darrin Hubbard, Michael Morris, Craig Bowling, Will Alsip and Jake Tankersley. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
